Twitter - the backlash!

April 28th, 2008 | by admin |

Just before we go galloping off, expressing our insane desire for twitter and it’s many transferable functions - I’ve got a few criticisms that I have stolen from a few friends (who have recently slagged me off for my “excessive” tweeting - spoilsports!)

Apparently twitter is annoying(!) - especially when synced through facebook… Understandable, as I express personal un-impress-ness for those who multiplying bulletin on myspace (saying that, I check my myspace very rarely these days - with my pruned network of 28 friends…) - interesting, as when I began using twitter sync, I was only doing it for for the novelty of updating my facebook on the go - since developing a quite intriguing network, I’ve found myself twittering absentmindedly - almost always in direct reference to the conversations going on around my general twitter network. My mates are telling me that they’d rather talk to me personally, than read “every” inane details of my inner workings of my mind (oh, you have no idea how many words I have and how little ears I have around me to here them… this is self-censored version…)

Therefore, my focus is on my twitter network - and I’m wondering if, rather than converging my different social networks into the same “lifestream”, I should be localising them on my blog - leaving FB alone, for those who don’t have the same desire to stream as much as me… (Though, in my opinion, FB is guilty as sin for far worse crimes in spam…)

From another perspective, I’ve had folk actually comment on how they are quite interested in my, apparently frequent, micro-blogging experiment - I don’t think the pros and cons are going to outweight each other here.

I’m going to continue doing my own thing - as per - but it would be interesting if anyone else had similar experiences recently, and do you think twitter should just stay in twitter - and we should leave our poor non-techy pals alone…?
